Itinerary of the Municipality of Arena Po and works of art

To make the Oltrepò Pavese a land of great tourist interest, in addition to its natural landscape that offers breathtaking scenery every day, the villages and buildings that arise on its territory also contribute, among these there is also the small village of Arena Po.
The municipality of Arena Po stands on the bank of the Po river and thanks to its past, rich in historical events, is home to attractions of great cultural value including the Castle de 'Beccaria, which in 1909 was proclaimed a building of historical interest, and the Church of San Giorgio Martire.
To enrich the village there are not only buildings and monuments dating back to ancient times, but also modern day works of art such as those exhibited at the MAAAPO, the open-air museum that winds through the streets of the village, where sculptures and paintings by international artists are exhibited. Part of this exhibition are the artist Gaetano Grillo, whose work, located on four walls at the entrance to the village, opens the path welcoming tourists and passers-by, up to Marika Ricchi, whose sculpture is positioned on the promenade that flanks the river Po. To further enrich this exhibition are the works of other important artists such as: Antonio Ievolella, Costas Varotsos, Renzogallo, Gianni Cella…
