Path number 10, included within the wide range of paths that can be traveled in the Municipality of Romagnese, retraces the legend of Hannibal, who is said to have walked the path with his troops during the Second Punic War against the Romans in 218 BC.
The path, together with all the others reopened and cleaned up after several years (including the Path of the Rivarolo Waterfalls) has been the subject of several restoration and cleaning interventions from 2020 onwards thanks to the work carried out by the Romagnese Volunteers and the Pro Loco di Romagnese, to then be included in the map of the paths of Romagnese, created by the municipal administration with the help of several volunteers who have carried out the tracking with the GPS, a map that is available at the municipal offices, local businesses and on the site of the Pro Loco di Romagnese.
On the path you can find several works of craftsmanship made by the Volunteers of Romagnese, including the "Carthaginian triptych", a large wooden hammer, several wooden mushrooms scattered along the path and the ever-present Annibale's Ring, donated by the Carthaginian leader to the Nymph of the Sources as a sign of gratitude for having given rest to him and his soldiers.
The Path of Hannibal can be followed freely all year round; you can follow the path towards the hamlets of Pozzallo and Casa Matti which represents the southern tip of our municipality or, in the opposite direction, return to the main town following the path in the 'Alliata' direction.
Furthermore, on the path, you can find the remains of an ancient mill (Miræi dar Cu'ass) and the presence of many black stones, ophiolithic rocks of magmatic origin, present in the valley in the area of Pietra Corva, Pan Perduto, up to Pozzallo.
