Article description

Oltrepò Pavese, among its many riches, has an abundant historical, artistic and cultural heritage and an excellent naturalistic landscape with all its beauties. Among the various localities you will also find Bagnaria, a village of 670 inhabitants which has maintained the ancient layout of the past medieval village. Since the first settlements, its historical baggage evolved in the shadow of multiple  ownerships of different nobles who administered the fief. Of these we remember: the Busseti of Tortona, the Fieschi of Genoa and the Doria princes, who ruled mainly between the 15th and 19th centuries.

Bagnaria is immersed in the heart of the Staffora Valley. Its land produces, almost by magic, quality colors and flavors that have kept the traditions of the past. Among these we can find: its fruits, cherries and apples, its dishes, typical products, such as salami, and historical heritage, such as the medieval village (perched in a panoramic position on the right side of the Staffora stream, with gray stone houses and narrow winding streets that climb up to the churchyard of the Romanesque church of San Bartolomeo) and all the other assets of the historical-artistic heritage and naturalistic with its network of paths worthy of a visit.
