Municipalities can attribute the “Municipal Denomination of Origin” to a wide range of products: not only cured meats, desserts and recipes, but also Beef obtained from local farming methods.
The De. Co. mark has been approved for this product, which gives life to spectacular and tasty recipes, to attest to its historical and cultural link with the territory. More precisely, the Meat of Fortunago is obtained from Piedmontese cattle raised according to the traditional methods of the area, handed down from generation to generation.
The grazing of the cattle takes place in the fields owned by farmer, where the feeding is constantly monitored, a fundamental aspect to guarantee a good product. In fact, the nourishment consists of forages from organic farming, therefore, cultivated without the use of chemicals, to promote the healthy growth of the animals. This shrewdness allows the breeder to obtain natural meats and to offer the consumer a product of excellent quality. These characteristics make them coveted by meat lovers and perfect in the kitchen for the preparation of delicious dishes such as stews, braised beef, and especially raw meat.

The De.Co. mark was born from a law, more precisely the Law n. 142 and is also a source of pride for many Municipalities in the Oltrepò Pavese area. It certifies that a specific product, be it food or artisanal, but also a specific recipe, are considered original and typical of the place.
There are many delicacies that boast this recognition, helping to enhance the places they come from and to guarantee their historical and cultural link with the territory. The "Miccone" of Stradella, the "Malfatti" of Fortunago, the potato of Brallo and the "Mundiöla" of Montesegale are just some of the examples of De.Co. that belong to and characterize the Oltrepò.
